Where: Workers Memorial in Bushnell Park
On April 28, the unions of the AFL-CIO observe Workers Memorial Day to remember those who have suffered and died on the job and to renew the fight for safe jobs. This year we will come together to defend hard-won victories by working people from attacks by right-wing Republicans and business groups. We will commit to fighting until all workers have safe jobs and the freedom to form unions to seek a better future.

The Passing of Brother Fran Gentile

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Francis E. Gentile, Chief Lineman (retired) and past Treasurer for IBEW Local #457. Fran served as Treasurer for over 25 years and was a solid UNION man. As solid as they come. He served under 3 different Business Managers which proves what a trusted individual Fran was, not only by his fellow officers, but by the members of #457. Condolences to the Gentile Family and all who were fortunate enough to call Fran, "Friend".

The Votes Are In- We Have A Teal Book

The votes are in and we now have a Teal Book which includes Tech/Test and Admin Support. Thanks to all who worked hard to see this through to the end! There's more to do but as was said a long time ago the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step and we just took it.

Message from John and Keith

It’s the end of the week and the negotiating committee has visited every CL&P district in 457 to discuss to tentative agreement.  It seemed to be informative for everyone involved and it helped the committee to further understand the particular concerns of each department.
