Welcome to IBEW Local 457

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 457 was chartered in 1972. We represent approximately 950 working men and women in CT. Our workforce is on the properties of Eversource Energy, FirstLight Power Resources, Norwich Public Utilities, NRG Energy, Inc. and Wallingford Public Utilities.

Our mission is to protect the rights and safety of all our workers throughout the various contracts and work locations. To that end we administer and negotiate 12 different contracts. Our office is in Berlin, CT, where we have of staff of four working full-time; Business Manager, Assistant Business Manager, Senior Administrator and Class A Administrator. The office is open Monday thru Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It is closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily for lunch.

WWII Day of Honor

 

On April 27, 2013, Members of IBEW Local 457 assisted WWII Veterans off the bus and onto the last 5 flights headed to Washington, D.C. to the WWII Memorial for the Day of Honor. Thank you to all the members who volunteered their time to help.

Workers Memorial Day 2013 Info

Workers Memorial Day is Sunday, April 28th. The Connecticut AFL-CIO will host a Workers Memorial Day Ceremony at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, April 28th on the North Steps of the Capitol.

7th Annual IBEW Local 420 vs. 457 Charity Golf Tournament

 

The IBEW is proud to support: Connecticut Children’s Medical Center- the only hospital in Connecticut dedicated exclusively to giving children the care they deserve.

The 7th Annual IBEW Local 420 vs. 457 Charity Golf Tournament will be held on July 12, 2013 at Pequabuck Golf Club of Bristol, 56 School Street, Bristol, CT

Registration Opens at 8:00 a.m. (coffee and pastries served)

IBEW Life Saving Award

Congrats to Brother Martin Gardiner, a member of IBEW Local 457 and Yankee Gas employee, for receiving the IBEW Life Saving Award, a pin, and letter from IBEW President Hill at the Yankee Gas Union meeting on February 19, 2013!

Electric Power Technology Program at CL&P- 14 vacancies

 

CL&P has partnered with Northwestern CT Community College, Manchester Community College and Middlesex Community College to offer a new electric power pathway. Completion of the Electric Power Technology Program earns students an associate degree in Technology Studies and prepares qualified candidates for a career as an electric power utility line mechanic or cable splicer.
